It was a very popular event. FamilySearch has announced that the Family History Library will be holding a block party in the Summer of 2016.

In 2015, thousands of people gathered in Salt Lake City, Utah, to participate in a larger event called the Global Family Reunion. As you might recall, the Global Family Reunion took place in New York City, and was created by A.J. Jacobs. Events related to it were held all over the world.

The Family History Library was founded in 1894 to gather genealogical records and assist members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with their family history and genealogical research. It is open to the general public at no charge.

The 2016 Family History Library Block Party will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016. It will start at 10:00 in the morning and end at 2:00 in the afternoon. The Family History Library is located on North West Temple Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Block Party will be held on West Temple between North and South Temple. The Block Party is sponsored by the Family History Department and the Church History Museum.
