Family Photo Shows Ghost of Grandmother

Family photos are precious. One glance at them brings back memories of family gatherings from years ago, and of relatives who have passed away. Many people who are grieving for a family member who has died will look at photos that show that person in a happy moment. Just seeing that person's face again can be an emotional experience. Naturally, it would be very shocking to see the face of a deceased relative appear in a recent photograph from a family gathering. For one woman, this is exactly what happened.

Monica Ballinger was attending a weekend family gathering that took place in December of 2010. Like most of us would do, she used her digital camera to take some photos. Personally, I think most people who enjoy taking photos of relatives at family gatherings take them rather quickly. You take a second to tell people to smile, you take a fast photo or two, and you continue enjoying the party and the company of your relatives. Sometimes, you might take a glance at the photo to make sure no one blinked, but most of us don't really take a long time to analyze the photos we take at family parties while the gathering is still going on.

After the gathering was over, Monica Ballinger was doing what we all would do: she took time to look at the photos from the family part. To her amazement, she saw the image of her grandmother's face in the sky in one of the photos. Her grandmother, Cleopatra McLendon Cadell, whom Monica called “Tay-Tay”, passed away eight years before the photo was taken. After her initial shock, Monica says she feels that her grandmother is watching over her, as her guardian angel, and that she felt that her grandmother's spirit never left her.

Whether you are a person who believes in ghosts, or if you are someone who absolutely doesn't believe that ghosts exist, this is still a touching story. Monica believes she sees the ghost of her grandmother in the photo. For her, this is real. While this isn't exactly the usual way that viewing a family photo can make you feel closer to your grandparents, it clearly evokes a strong emotional connection with the family member who has passed on from this world.
