A German surname, Albaugh originally from the German name ‘Albach’ and the Latin term of ‘albanus‘ which means white. The term ‘bach’ meant a stream in High German and in some places referred to a person with fair, light hair color. Variations in spelling Albaugh include Allaugh, Ahlbach, Alpock, Allebach, Albach, Allbes, Allabaugh, Aulabaugh and Alpaugh.
