DAR Genealogy Videos

Which other national organization just might be of great assistance and information to you as you research your family? How about the DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution? On the national website, they have a long series of authors discussing their historical work and this Genealogy 101 Series features presentations on a variety of genealogical topics led by the professional genealogists on staff at the DAR or by other experienced genealogists.

These FREE programs are available through the DAR website library and on YouTube. You see and hear the expert guest speaker, any photos or documents are showed and if you miss a word or phrase, just replay that portion again. You just click the arrow to begin playing the video.

This is a wonderful free service available to anyone at anytime. Some of the presentations are: Names and their use in Genealogical Research; Resources for Research in Colonial New England; Doing Military Genealogy; Locating Mothers and Spouses; Asian-American Genealogy; Using FamilySearch.org and the Search Tab; Civil War Pensions; Native American Genealogy; and Cemeteries and Death Records – just to a name a few.

Seeing the varied topics, you see you do not need to only be researching if you have any patriot ancestors from the American Revolution. All types of topics are covered.

Review through the listing, titles just above the video window and see what new techniques you can learn with DAR – Online Library Lectures.
