Genealogists have a unique opportunity to participate in a weeklong United States seminar at the Family History Library’s research center. Those who are interested, and have some free time this month, should register for the seminar as soon as possible. Space is limited.
The Family History Library is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. There are experienced guides and genealogists, and research consultants, that are available to help people with their genealogy research – free of charge. The Family History Library is connected with the popular FamilySearch genealogy website, and is provided as a service by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Genealogists and family historians of all religions (or of no religion at all) are welcome.
The free weeklong United States Seminar will be held on August 22-26, 2016. It is described as “perfect for beginning and intermediate genealogists interested in learning about U.S. regions and records, FamilySearch resources, and Family History Library collections.

In-house seating is limited to 120 attendees. All classes will be held as webinars, with the exception for the hands-on activities. When you register, you will be asked if you plan on attending in-house or online. Each person who participates in-house will get a free spiral-bound syllabus containing all class materials and handouts. Those attending online can print them out at home.
