FamilySearch Added Over 28 Million New Indexed Records



FamilySearch expanded its free online archives in December of 2020 with over 28 million new indexed family history records from all over the world.

New historical records were added from Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Cape Verde, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, the Dominican Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, El Salvador, England, Fiji, Finland, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Guatemala, Kiribati, Mexico, Micronesia, Nicaragua, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Samoa, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Zambia, and the United States.

The United States newly indexed family history records come from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Newly indexed record collections from Mexico include: Mexico, Campeche, Catholic Church Records, 1639-1944; Mexico, Durango, Catholic Church Records, 1604-1984; Mexico, Hidalgo, Catholic Church Records 1546-1971; Mexico Nuevo León, Catholic Church Records, 1667-1981; Mexico, Sinaloa, Catholic Church Records, 1671-1968; Mexico, Yucatán, Catholic Church Records, 1543-1968; and Mexico, Zacatecas, Catholic Church Records, 1605-1980.

Newly indexed record collections from France include: France, Eure, Parish and Civil Registration, 1526-1902; France, Haute-Garonne, Toulouse, Civil Registration, 1792-1893; France, Marne, Census, 1856; France, Nord, Parish and Civil Registration, 1524-1892; France, Saone-et-Loire, Parish and Civil Registration, 1530-1892; and France, Seine-Saint-Denis, Parish and Civil Registration, 1523-1932.

Newly indexed record collections from England include: England, Essex Non-Conformist Church Records, 1613-1971; England, Gloucestershire Non-Conformist Church Records, 1642-1996; England, Herefordshire Bishop’s Transcripts, 1583-1898; England, Middlesex Parish Registers, 1539-1988; England, Northumberland Parish Registers, 1539-1988; and England, Northumberland Non-Conformist Church Records, 1613-1920.

Newly indexed record collections from Germany include: Germany, Hessen-Nassau, Diocese of Umberg, Catholic Church Records, 1601-1919; Germany, Prussia, Saxony, Census Lists, 1770-1919; Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate, Diocese of Mainz, Catholic Church Records, 1540-1952; and Germany, Wurttemberg, Diocese of Rottenburg-Stutgart, Catholic Church Records, 1520-1975.
