FamilySearch Classes Presented at RootsTech 2018 Now Online



RootsTech 2018 has come and gone, but the knowledge shared there remains. FamilySearch has made eight RootsTech 2018 classes available to view on the FamilySearch website.

There are a total of eight FamilySearch classes that were presented at RootsTech 2018 and that are now available to view online. The classes are downloadable. They are:

FamilySearch’s Future
Some of the topics discussed in this class include: digital access to replacing microfilm; digitized record collections; web indexing; Family Tree Light; importing Google Photos into Memories; Relatives Around Me; Map My Ancestors; and more.

FamilySearch Apps
This class talks about how to download the FamilySearch mobile apps and how to complete tasks on the mobile apps. It also talks about FamilySearch’s Relatives Around Me app and FamilySearch’s Map My Ancestors app.

Finding Elusive Records
This class is presented by Robert Kehrer, from FamilySearch International. By walking, step by step, through genealogical examples, Robert Kehrer will demonstrate skills and techniques used by the experts and will expose hidden record identification tools and features of the Family Search website.

FamilySearch and Ancestry: Discover More
This class presented by Brian Edwards. He guides you through the collaborative experience of using FamilySearch and Ancestry together. He also walks you through some of the features on Ancestry.com that are available only to members of the LDS Church.

How Can FamilySearch Help You in Nordic Research
This class is presented by Whitney Peterson. This class goes over what collections FamilySearch has published for the countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, how to access the collections on FamilySearch, and how they can help you in your Nordic research.

Records of your Hispanic Ancestors on FamilySearch.org
This class is presented by Karina Morales and Leandro Soria from FamilySearch. They show you how to find genealogical records on FamilySearch for countries in Latin America, and for Spain and Portugal.

WWII Records
This class is presented by Ken Nelson. Topics include draft registrations, statement of service cards, military unit histories, state collections, discharge records, and records of Gold Star Mothers. It also looks at the American Legion and cemetery burials of the American Battle Monuments Commission and the National Cemetery System in the United States.

Netherlands Records
This class is presented by John deJong. He teaches you how to use the over 50 million Dutch records recently published on FamilySearch.
