FamilySearch has Collections of Catholic Records



In March of 2018, FamilySearch added records to existing collections of Catholic church records. The information in those records could be useful for genealogists who have Catholic ancestors. Check the FamilySearch News Release to find the most recently updated or added record collections.

Columbia, Catholic Church Records, 1576-2014
This collection includes baptisms, confirmations, pre-marriage investigations, marriage dispensations, deaths, and indexes for parishes throughout Columbia from 1576-2014. These records were created by priests. The earlier records in this collection are in a handwritten format.

Columbia, Diocese of Barranquilla, Catholic Church Records, 1808-1985
Catholic church records created by parishes in the Dioceses of Barranquilla, Columbia.

Croatia, Delnice Deanery Catholic Church Books, 1725-1926
Index of Catholic Church books for the Delnice Deanery located in Western Croatia. The books contain records of births/baptisms, marriages, and deaths/burials

France, Coutances et d’Avranches Diocese, Catholic Parish Records, 1533-1894
Name index and images of Catholic parish registers recording events of baptism, marriage and burial in the Diocese of Coutances et d’Avranches. Parishes within this diocese are within the boundaries of the department of Manche.

Portugal, Portalegre, Catholic Church Records, 1859-1911
Catholic Church records created by parishes in the district of Portalegre. These records include baptisms, marriages, deaths, and legitimizations and recognitions. These records are housed at the Arquivo Distrial de Portalegre.

Portugal, Porto, Catholic Church Records, 1535-1949
Catholic church records created by parishes primarily in the district of Porto but also in the district of Viana do Castelo, all of which are housed in the Arquivo Distral de Porto.

Portugal, Setúbal, Catholic Church Records, 1555-1991
Catholic Church records created by parishes in the district of Setúbal. These records include baptisms, marriages, and deaths. These records are housed in the Arquivo Distral de Setúbal.

Bolivia Catholic Church Records, 1566-1996
Catholic church records created by parishes in Bolivia. These records include baptisms, confirmations, marriages, pre-marriage investigations, deaths, indexes and other records.

Poland, Radom Roman Catholic Church Books, 1587-1966
Images and indexes of church books containing baptisms and births, marriages, burials, and deaths for the parishes in the Radom Roman Catholic Diocese of Poland. Births end in 1912, marriages in 1937, and deaths in 1982.

Keep in mind that this list does not include all of the collections of Catholic records that are available on FamilySearch. This list is just a quick look at some of the Catholic record collections that were recently added to.
