The app itself can be downloaded for free. However, you do need to have a subscription at Ancestry.com in order to get the most use from it. The app allows Ancestry.com subscribers to view their family tree, access it, merge records, upload photos, and view the records and photos that you have already attached to your family tree at Ancestry.com.

BillionGraves Camera App


This is another helpful app that genealogists can download, and use, for free. It connects to the BillionGraves website. Use the camera on your smartphone to take a photo of a headstone in any cemetery. You can upload it to the BillionGraves website. The app will update the data about the location of the headstone and allow others to see where each gravestone is located.

Flickr App


It doesn’t cost anything at all to sign up for an account at Flickr.com. Doing so will get you a free terabyte of space. You can use that space to store copies of your family photos.

The Flickr App can be downloaded for free. The app also gives you some basic photo editing tools and filters. It also enables you to search through the Flickr photos that were posted by your friends on Flickr.

MyHeritage is a genealogy website that people can use for free. It gives you access to some records and allows you to put together a family tree. The MyHeritage Mobile App can also be downloaded and used for free. The app works in conjunction with the MyHeritage website. In other words, you should have a MyHeritage account if you want to get the most from this app.
