Genealogy Resources at Brownwood Public Library

The Brownwood Public Library is located in Brownwood, Texas. The Brownwood Public Library’s History and Genealogy branch is located across the street from the Brown County Courthouse, and two blocks from the Brown County Museum of History. That makes it very convenient for genealogists to do their research.

The Brown County Local History and Genealogy Library opened in 2006. It is a branch of the Brownwood Public Library. There are two part-time staff members and numerous volunteers from the Pecan Valley Genealogical Society who can help genealogists with their needs.

The volunteers use their own transportation to go to remote areas of the county for photo requests and to record Rural Cemetery burials. They also have fundraisers to provide additional funds for the Genealogy Library.
