Help in Verifying any Mayflower Ancestors

Back on November 9, 1620, there were 102 passengers along with 30 crewmen aboard the English ship ‘Mayflower’ coming to the New World to start a new life. They began the Plymouth Colony. Today, there are an estimated 35 million Mayflower descendants worldwide. In the United States that is approximately 25% can trace their heritage to those on the Mayflower ship in 1620. However, proving you are one of those descendants does take proof.

The New England Historic Genealogical Society and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants are offering a three-part online course to show you the way to verify any Mayflower ancestors. The General Society of Mayflower Descendants is a hereditary organization of individuals who have documented their descent from one or more of the 102 passengers. So with these two organizations, they can offer advice on your search.

The three online courses run Wednesday, March 11, Wed., March 18 and Wed., March 25th – each starting at 6 pm EDT and ending at 7:30 pm EDT. The site offering the 3-part course provides details of how to sign up.

This link covers famous and well-known individuals who are descendants of Mayflower passengers.
