On Thursday, September 26th, is ‘Love Note Day’. A day to tell someone you love them, by writing a message of love in the form of a note. Though the traditional way of doing this is in handwritten form, yet today digital emails are another way of sending out a love message on this particular day.
This day can be at its most effective when the recipient of the message isn’t aware that Love Note Day even exists! Consequently, a loving message will come as a pleasant surprise. Now that is present-day but yes, ‘love notes and letters’ have been done since writing existed. It might be hard to imagine that your parents, grandparents, great uncle-aunt sent love notes, but more than likely they did. That would be traditional hand-written notes or special printed cards – not digital messages.
This would be a great item to add to your family history. Of course, maybe none of those love notes or letters exist anymore. But do ask other relatives if they are aware just writing of notes was done between your parents or grandparents.
Also, there might be such notes between a mother and child, a father and daughter, a grandmother and grandchild, etc.
Even if you can’t locate the actual love notes or letters, if you have the time frame you can put ‘samples’ of such notes (found in a Google Search) in with the family history.
