NGS Family History Conference will be Virtual

National Genealogical Society (NGS) has announced that their 2020 Family History Conference will be virtual. The conference will start live on May 20, 2020 at 11 a.m., and will continue with on-demand lectures that will open July 1, 2020.

NGS explains the decision to go virtual this way: “Due to the continued spread of COVID-19 across the nation, and out of concern for the health and safety of our attendees and staff, the National Genealogical Society (NGS) 2020 Family History Conference will now be online only.”

If you have already registered for the full event in Salt Lake City, your registration will automatically be converted to registration for the virtual events. You will still have options to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your registration.

All registered attendees will have access to view NGS 2020 Live! on 20 May via webcasting. These sessions will be pre-recorded to avoid technical problems. The webcast will start at 11:00 am EDT. Each presenter will participate throughout the first 45-50 minutes of their sessions with an online “chat” with attendees. Immediately following the end of the presentation, a 10-to-15 minute moderated Q&A will give attendees the chance to learn even more from presenters.

Beginning on July 1, 2020, registered attendees will also be able to stream their additional webinars on-demand, along with the featured presentations from the NGS 2020 Live! event.

Some NGS 2020 Live! presentations include:
