RootsTech London Announced Keynote Speakers



For the first time ever, the world’s largest family history conference is coming to London! RootsTech London will take place on October 24-26, 2019. They have announced a lineup of keynote speakers.

RootsTech, hosted by FamilySearch, is a global conference celebrating families across generations, where people of all ages are inspired to discover and share their memories 

The featured keynote speaker on Thursday, October 24, will be Dan Snow, a popular historian, broadcaster, and television presenter. He presented military history programs with his father, Peter Snow. Their Battlefield Britainwon a BAFTA award. He has also contributed to several books including “Death or Victory; The World’s Greatest Twentieth Century Battlefields”, and “The Battle of Waterloo Experience”.

On Friday, October 25, the featured keynote speaker will be Steve Rockwood, CEO of FamilySearch International, and Nick Barratt, an English genealogist and Director of Senate House Library at University of London. Steve Rockwood was elected CEO of FamilySearch International on October 1, 2015. 

Nick Barratt is best known as genealogical consultant for series 1 to 4 of the BBC show “Who Do You Think You Are?” He is also a community member for the Community Archive and Heritage Group, and President of the Federation of Family History Societies.

RootsTech 2019 in London will offer over 150 classes and activities for families and individuals with a variety of interests and skills.

Select classes will be broadcast online. The entire schedule has been posted on the RootsTech 2019 website. Several Sessions and Labs will be taking place at the same time, so you will want to figure out which ones interest you the most before you arrive at the conference.
