The Tulsa City-County Library is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is home to the Genealogy Resource Center, one of the largest genealogy collections in Oklahoma. The Genealogy Resource Center is located in Hardestry Regional Library.
Along with a large collection of resources on Tulsa county and Oklahoma, the Center offers a comprehensive collection on many other states, primarily those that follow the migration pattern of families who came to Oklahoma and the mid-west.
The Genealogy Center’s mission is to serve family researchers. The Genealogy Center’s collection and services help support that mission. The professional staff are genealogists themselves, and most have been researching for many years. They are able to assist all levels of researchers from beginners to the most advanced.
The Genealogy Center has a partnership with the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This gives researchers who visit the Genealogy Center online access to digitized records, including restricted content not available at home.
The research collection includes traditional resources as well as online databases and subscriptions. The print collection includes many out-of-print volumes. Books are divided into sections by state and families. Materials in the state sections include county records and histories, along with books highlighting military, church and cemetery records.
